Goals & Objectives
The task was to develop a Speaker Event Finder Platform that would automatically scrape and filter event listings of public speakers. The platform had to achieve the following goals:
- Scrape and retrieve event data from handpicked websites such as TEDx, Eventbrite, 10Times, and the Chambers of Commerce website.
- Ensure each record includes detailed fields like location, event date, size, venue type (live/virtual), compensation, and more.
- Save data with AWS-native services i.e., DynamoDB or a Lambda-S3 setup.
- Use a Node.js REST API to drive the frontend search engine with filtered results.
- Host the solution on AWS by leveraging the client's existing AWS account.
Our Solution
To deliver the platform within a strict timeline, we designed a modular and scalable application on the MERN stack and AWS services. The key steps of our solution were:

- Web Scraping Automation: Automated web scrapers on more than 10 event platforms, scraping more than 50,000 speaker-oriented event records.
- Smart Filtering System: Implemented smart filters on city, country, audience, and date to enable users to filter events according to their interests.
- Frontend Development: Designed a stunning, responsive ReactJS frontend with seamless user experience.
- Backend APIs: Used secure, high-speed RESTful APIs with Node.js and Express to provide lightning-speed, filtered output.
- AWS Deployment: Integrated AWS Lambda, S3, and DynamoDB to enable serverless data storage and processing.
